The Litton is a pub and boutique hotel based in the heart Somerset. The original building, built in the 1420’s, started life as a food mill, later becoming the focal point of village life and a meeting place for locals, farmers and producers. Over the years it has been inhabited by various pubs and business, but has now settled in the hands of Sally Billington, who set about a sympathetic refurbishment of the main mill, outhouses and surrounding gardens.
The client requested a brand and digital presence which felt quirky and modern, with a nod to its heritage and geographical location. It also had to compliment the brand new interior and surrounding landscape design. We set about creating custom letterforms and illustrations which felt loose, fun and informal and which reflected the laid back but professional style of hospitality offered at The Litton.
Understanding the business and building an ongoing working relationship
ORCA were selected as the exclusive brand partner for The Litton, and set about creating an extensive set of brand guidelines, corporate stationery and other collateral including menus, promotional materials, training documents, signage and full CMS website which displays the beautiful interiors, rooms, bars and gardens.
Over the last two years, ORCA have undergone an extensive marketing strategy which spans over both print and digital media, utilising both the strong web presence we’ve already created and the growing social media platforms we manage. We built long-lasting relationships with local businesses and attractions, as well as suppliers and customers alike. We have helped to develop the brand both locally and nationally and are on-hand to create custom graphics for events, festivals and gigs at the venue.
