Our Business:
ORCA is a brand and digital agency creating positive change through design. We create, renovate and communicate challenger brands to build engagement and impact. We believe in the power and importance of courageous creative and building genuine relationships. We’re a small but perfectly formed, close-knit bunch of creators, thinkers, writers, coders, solvers and strategists.

Over the last 7 years, ORCA have developed an impressive list of clients including BBC, Osborne Clarke, Royal London, The University of Bath and Icon Films.

We believe in culture first, which in turn encourages great design, long-standing client relationships and champion table foosball players. We support collaboration and personal expression, encouraging the team to challenge themselves daily and try new things. We strive to create a fun, enjoyable and relaxed working environment, and we believe this is reflected in the quality of our work.

We only add new staff members to increase our impact and improve our offering, not just to increase turnover. Moving forward, we plan to grow and improve our client roster, and this is where you come in! ORCA require a kick-ass Client Services Manager who can nurture existing client relationships, as well as build new ones, through a strategic business development plan.

The Role:
You will predominantly be working alongside the Managing Director, Project Manager and Marketing Manager, to understand our clients’ challenges and plan how we can grow our relationships with them – writing and delivering client development plans for each and becoming indispensable to them and their teams. You will have responsibility for project management on some projects, if this is needed from time to time, but your energies will mainly be focused on identifying and delivering new project opportunities, both from our current client base, and from new business. Strong brand understanding and the role  brands play within the client’s organisation is key.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership and personalisation of the client services function at ORCA, injecting new ideas of how we can improve our offering and grow positive client relationships
  • Filtering opportunities efficiently, evaluating in-bound, new business opportunities, leading their conversion where they are deemed exciting and viable, and fronting pitches when required
  • Developing and delivering strategic plans for key clients (built on a deep understanding of their businesses) in order to achieve budgeted targets and to grow each with imagination and commercial insight
  • Planning and tracking projects to maximise profitability
  • Regularly checking in with all accounts to build a clear picture of clients’ financial calendars, spending and growth plans, to try and secure ORCA more ongoing work
  • Recommending new projects and services to existing clients, and ensuring delivery of key projects to cement these relationships
  • Delivery of targeted new business activities e.g. attending trade shows, speaking engagements, networking, approaching targeted companies
  • Contributing to the marketing and PR plan for the business to improve our visibility within the sector
  • Contributing to the future direction of ORCA, refining our offering and tailoring new services to fit the market
  • Collaborating with the Marketing Manager and Creative Director to ensure all clients’ needs are met and surpassed, upholding our high standards while ensuring a healthy bottom line
  • Challenging ideas where appropriate and offering alternative suggestions to fit within your vision for the client
  • Liaising with Directors on the status of each account, highlighting new business opportunities and any areas of concern
  • Acting as the main point of contact for all ORCA clients

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years, creative agency experience, in the same role or similar
  • A proactive, passionate outlook to work and targets
  • Confident, outgoing, social, gregarious and driven
  • Communicative
  • Good commercial and strategic insight
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple people, clients and projects
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and drive own ideas

  • Confident to venture out on your own to represent the business in a variety of settings
  • Faultless attention to detail
  • A good understanding of budget requirements/restrictions and improving margins
  • Enjoy building relationships
  • Work well under pressure

This role will involve some travel from time to time.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with hunger to take ORCA to the next level, by securing new, larger accounts with household names and to build ORCA’s brand portfolio, while building brand exposure.

Package:

  • Competitive salary
  • 21 days annual holiday (which increases with length of service up to a maximum of 30 days) plus your birthday and the Christmas shutdown period off
