Full brand identity for an exciting and dynamic business consultancy
Wharton Business Consulting, based in London, help businesses solve people problems so that those people become their biggest asset. They focus on people capital to help their clients cultivate growth when (and where) they need it. They are the embodiment of the expert advisor that is trusted, down to earth and always honest about what will help businesses create a more engaging workplace, and they're a refreshing and flexible alternative to the big 4 consultancies.
Wharton Business Consulting live and breathe flexibility in everything they do, from their working hours, to their methods, and how they approach problem solving for our clients.
ORCA felt a huge amount of synergy with Wharton Business Consulting, in our ethos and our culture, but also in the way we approach a new challenge. Working closely with clients that enable a symbiotic working relationship, allows us to really relate to the issues they're facing and the way they want to be perceived as a new brand. When Wharton Business Consulting requested a full brand and digital overhaul, we were really excited to accept the challenge. Working within this type of business environment, which covers various sectors, enables us to really challenge our abilities and push the boundaries of what is capable.

From the offset, we aimed to create a brand which stood out within a typically formal environment. Utilising bold colour, modern sans serif typography and eye catching shapes to highlight the brand messaging and emphasise the personal, friendly and flexible approach of Wharton Business Consulting.
The client had a soft spot for their existing logo, and liked how the multiple dots represented a living, working ecosystem, while the arrow portrayed progression and growth. We evolved these ideas further, incorporating a cuboid shape (made up of dots), to represent the multifaceted sides to a large organisation and the busy ecosystem within. We then tilted the cuboid to depict the progressive form of an upward arrow, while weighting the individual dots slightly to bring a 3D quality to the shape. The mark was then coupled with bold sans serif typography and a punchy colour palette, unlike that of anything in the sector, which allowed us to take further risks with the brand rollout.
