ORCA Partners with The Mazi Project: Strengthening Community Through Creative Collaboration

Straight off the back of our last successful charity partnership with Migrateful, ORCA is excited to announce our latest charity partnership for 2024. The Mazi Project is a Bristol-based charity dedicated to empowering disadvantaged young people through access to nutritious meals and culinary education/ to use food as a tool for social mobility, advocacy, and a cure to public health crisis. ORCA will be offering The Mazi Project design and creative support throughout 2024, kicking off with a full visual identity overhaul to position The Mazi Project as a leading voice in food equality and social justice. This collaboration highlights ORCA’s unwavering commitment to its B Corp values, using business as a force for good, and its dedication to giving back to the local community.

Elevating Purpose Through Creative Collaboration

The Mazi Project has made significant strides in tackling food insecurity among Bristol’s youth, providing weekly meal kits filled with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, along with recipes that promote independence and essential cooking skills. However, like many purpose-driven organisations, The Mazi Project faces the challenge of standing out in a crowded charitable landscape and ensuring its message reaches those who can benefit from its services and those who wish to support it.

This is where ORCA comes in. As a challenger brand agency, ORCA specialises in helping mission-driven organisations break through the noise and connect with their audience on a deeper level. Through this partnership, ORCA will be providing The Mazi Project with strategic brand and creative support, focusing on refining and amplifying their brand identity and social narrative to ensure it resonates with a broader audience. This collaboration will help The Mazi Project build a stronger, more recognisable brand that clearly communicates its impact and vision.

"Our work with The Mazi Project is about more than just branding—it’s about storytelling," says James Ewin, Founder of ORCA. "We’re committed to helping The Mazi Project share their powerful mission with the world in a way that inspires action and fosters a stronger connection with the community. By leveraging our expertise in creative strategy, we aim to elevate their message and ensure their incredible work is seen and supported by as many people as possible."

Empowering Young People Through Food and Community

The partnership’s focus on creative storytelling is rooted in the understanding that, for many charities like The Mazi Project, the ability to articulate their mission and their founder’s story compellingly is crucial to their success. ORCA’s involvement will include refining The Mazi Project’s brand identity, enhancing its visual and verbal communication, and developing campaigns that resonate with the community and potential supporters.

This strategic approach is designed to build long-term engagement and awareness, ensuring that The Mazi Project’s mission of empowering young people through food is not just heard but felt. ORCA’s support will help the charity to communicate its values, achievements, and the importance of its work more effectively, making it easier for the organisation to attract new supporters, volunteers, and partnerships.

"Partnering with ORCA is a pivotal moment for us," says Melanie Vaxevanakis, Founder of The Mazi Project. "Their expertise in crafting distinctive brands for purpose-driven organisations like ours will be instrumental in helping us tell our story in a way that truly reflects the impact we’re making. We’re excited to see how this collaboration will amplify our voice and bring more attention to the issues we’re tackling."

Living the B Corp Ethos

ORCA’s decision to partner with The Mazi Project aligns seamlessly with its B Corp ethos, which prioritises social and environmental impact in every business decision. For ORCA, this partnership is not just about delivering creative services—it’s about contributing to the betterment of society and using its skills and resources to support those who are making a real difference.

As a B Corp, ORCA is committed to using its business as a force for good, and this collaboration is a testament to that commitment. By helping The Mazi Project strengthen its brand and reach, ORCA is not only supporting a local charity but also empowering the broader community by fostering greater awareness and involvement.

A Shared Vision for a Brighter Future

ORCA and The Mazi Project are both driven by the belief that real change happens when we come together to support each other. Through this partnership, ORCA is showing how powerful creative storytelling can be in making a real difference in the community. It’s not just about branding—it’s about making sure more people know about and get behind the important work The Mazi Project is doing.

As ORCA keeps pushing the limits of what a challenger brand agency can do, their focus on purpose and community stays strong. This collaboration is a great example of how businesses can use their unique talents to do good. Together, ORCA and The Mazi Project are working to ensure more young people get the support they need, helping to build a stronger, more equal and more connected community.
